This unique visual art project enables professional artists with disability or who are d/Deaf to develop new works which will be screened at the the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in celebration of International Day of People with Disability.

Two artists will be selected and will receive $13,000 in grant funding as well as a professional mentorship with an experienced video artist. An additional $9,500 of in-kind production support is available from our partnering organisations Bus Stop Films and Western Sydney community creative hub ACE.

Register now for our Advance Your Career session dedicated to upskilling artists and arts workers with disability or who are d/Deaf on generating Access Riders.

In this free online workshop, Michelle Teear will provide a practical overview of what an Access Rider is, how to write one, what to ask for and the kind of language to use. It will cover the rights of people with disability or who are d/Deaf, self-advocacy and negotiating reasonable adjustments.

Applications Open for the 2023 Bundanon Residency Program

The 2023 Accessible Arts and Bundanon Trust Artist-In-Residence Program is now open to visual artists, writers and musicians with disability or who are d/Deaf from NSW and the ACT. Five artists will be funded to undertake a six night residency at the renowned Bundanon Trust estate from 16 – 22 October 2023.

The Bundanon Trust Artist-in-Residence program is the largest of its kind in Australia, making it highly sought after by artists nationally. These valuable residencies have been important stepping stones in the career development of many successful Australian artists with disability.

Access Ideas and Insights: The Future of Art

This expert panel featured leading artists and technologists Thea-Mai Baumann, Louise Zhang and Amy Mills. They discussed the many exciting ways we might create and engage with art and explored how artists and organisations are innovating access and inclusion with new technology.

We’re delighted to announce the six talented artists with disability accessing professional mentorships through our 2023 NEXT LEVEL Creative Mentorship program:

Christopher Bryant, Sarah Carroll, Jennifer Hankin, Zac Misfud, Dr Laura (Amara) Osweiler and Grace Valerie-Lynette will each receive a mentorship within a leading performing arts organisation and $3000 in project funding to develop an innovative new project.

Ripple: Disability and Culturally Diverse Internship Program – Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for Ripple: Disability and Culturally Diverse Internship Program.

This valuable program is a partnership between Accessible Arts, Diversity Arts Australia, and a range of arts and cultural organisations across NSW and the ACT. These paid internships will be in a variety of creative and technical areas such as marketing, curating, production, front of house, arts administration, public programs, writing, producing, and editing within music, visual arts, theatre and publishing.

Showcasing some of Australia’s funniest comedians with disability or chronic illness, this accessible comedy event boasts a hilarious line-up headlined by Sam Kissajukian and featuring Robyn Reynolds, Jamal Abdul and Alexandra Hudson, and will be hosted by award-winning comedian Madeleine Stewart.

Congratulations to the 2023 Front and Centre Participants

Congratulations to the 14 skilled participants who have been selected for Front & Centre 2023 – a career coaching and professional development program for women and non-binary people with disability working in the arts, creative and cultural sectors across NSW, the ACT, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
This 10-month program aims to increase the representation of women and non-binary people with disability in leadership positions such as artistic directors, board members and senior positions in programming and management.
