We’re Hiring a Project Coordinator

We’re recruiting for a Project Coordinator to assist with the delivery of our ArtScreen 2022 and Front & Centre initiatives for artists with disability.

This exciting and rewarding role works across the organisation to assist with general project related duties for numerous projects that the organisation is undertaking. This is a fixed term contract offering flexible working arrangements up to 15 hours per week from 1 July 2022 until 31 December 2022.

ArtScreen 2022 Artists Announced!

We are delighted to announce the two talented artists selected for ArtScreen 2022 are Dani Pearce and Demon Derriere.

Each artist will create new video artworks which explore themes of identity, access and social connectedness to be screened at the the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in December 2022. They will each receive $11,500 in grant funding toward the production of their work and undertake a professional mentorship with experienced video artist Dr Zanny Begg. An additional $9000 of in-kind production support is available from our partnering organisations.

Access Ideas and Insights: Film Industry

After the screening of Shadow, join writer-director Johanna Garvin and some of the film team from the award-winning Back To Back Theatre Company to hear what the film industry can learn from their experience.

This is a free Sydney Film Festival event in partnership with Accessible Arts.

M. Sunflower Wins George’s River Council Art Prize

We are delighted to announce M. Sunflower as the winner of the George’s River Council Art Competition 2022. Her work ‘Rainbow Wildflowers’ has been selected for use in the design of Georges River Council’s Disability Inclusion and Action Plan.

“If you look into the history of abstraction, it always seems to rise when the world is in turmoil. Using colour and abstract mark making, I transmute the present moment of pain into a pathway towards future regeneration,” say M. Sunflower.

Five Artists Are Taking Their Projects to the NEXT LEVEL

We’re delighted to announce the talented artists with disability or who are d/Deaf selected for our NEXT LEVEL Creative Mentorship program!

Antoinette Barbouttis, Hanna Cormick, Dave Houston, Gareth Kelaart and Jacqui O’Reilly will each receive $5000 in project funding a mentorship within a leading performing arts organisation. Our partners include Sydney Theatre Company, PACT, Darlinghurst Theatre Company, NORPA and Riverside Theatres.

Georges River Council Art Competition – $2000 Prize

Georges River Council is seeking submissions of existing artwork from artists across NSW with disability or who are d/Deaf.

One artwork will be selected for use in the design of Georges River Council’s Disability Inclusion and Action Plan and the chosen artist will receive $2000.

Artworks can be submitted across a range of disciplines and styles but must be 2D work.

Advance Your Career: Small Project Grants Information Session

This Advance Your Career session offers valuable insights on how to prepare competitive grant applications.

Create NSW is currently offering Quick Response grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 towards projects and professional development opportunities. Hear directly from their Arts Funding and Development Manager about the guidelines, assessment criteria and support material required for a strong application. This session will also be followed by a Q&A.
