The Accessible Arts and Bundanon Trust Artist-In-Residence Program announces a creative and career development opportunity for five artists with disability or who are d/Deaf from NSW and the ACT.

The 2024 Accessible Arts and Bundanon Trust Artist-In-Residence Program is now open to visual artists, writers and musicians with disability or who are d/Deaf from NSW and the ACT. Up to five (5) artists will be funded to undertake a six (6) night residency at the renowned Bundanon Trust estate from 4 – 10 November 2024.

The Bundanon Trust Artist-in-Residence program is the largest of its kind in Australia, making it highly sought after by artists nationally. Each year, Accessible Arts partners with Bundanon to present a valuable week-long residency program specifically for artists with disability or who are d/Deaf.

Congratulations to the 10 talented practitioners with disability selected for the NSW Government’s 2024 Createability Internship Program.

Aaron Gold, Bianca Yeung, Holly-Jane Cohle, James Weaver, Jo Roberts, Kate Teal-Spicer, Kyle Goldfinch, Louis Walker, Sarah Carrol and Sufiya Naqvi will contribute their valuable skills and make connections with some of the sector’s leading screen and performing arts organisations, advancing their careers through hands-on roles.

The Createability Internship Program is delivered through Create NSW and Screen NSW, in partnership with Accessible Arts.

Showcasing some of Australia’s funniest comedians with disability or chronic illness, this raucous accessible comedy event boasts a line-up of award-winning performers. With razor-sharp wit and undeniable charm, these talented comedians share hilarious and uncensored insights into disability and oh so much more! From awkward encounters to side-splitting observations that cut to the quick, no subject is off-limits.

MC’d by the fabulous Madeleine Stewart, the changing line-up will feature comedians including Bec Charlwood, Sam Kissajukian, Alexandra Hudson, Bea Barbeau-Scurla, Jamal Abdul, Irene Nicola, Oliver Hunter, Loz Booth, Robyn Reynolds, Sam Wade and Tom Elphick.

This exciting national program is a unique and comprehensive career development and leadership program designed for women and non-binary people with disability or who are d/Deaf to develop skills towards becoming influential leaders in the arts and cultural sector.
