Celebrating 2019 International Day Of People With Disability

Tuesday 3 December 2019: Today is the International Day Of People With Disability (IDPWD) and today we acknowledge, honour and celebrate people with disability and the vital contributions they make to arts and culture here in Australia and throughout the world.

Accelerating opportunities for people with disability to excel as arts practitioners and cultural leaders as well as to fully participate as audience members is essential for strengthening and sustaining our creative industries.

This picture shows some of the delegates who attended our Arts Activated Conference a few months ago. All live with disability and all are shaping the narrative of arts and disability in their own unique way. To them and all community members working to create a more equitable world for people with disability, we say thank you.

There are lots of ways you can mark this year’s IDPWD. If you’re in Sydney, get along to our IDPWD Film Festival this weekend: www.https://aarts.net.au/whats-on/idpwd-film-festival/
