ArtScreen 2021 Launch

Join us for this FREE online 2020 International Day Of People With Disability event that will showcase new work by and new opportunities for artists with disability.

ArtScreen 2021 Launch

ArtScreen 2021 is a new production initiative for artists and filmmakers with disability which aims to create compelling new video artworks which will premiere at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art in 2021 and potentially screen on  innovative video art streaming service Prototype.

This online launch event will introduce interested applicants to the initiative, reveal the ArtScreen 2021 mentors and provide details of how to access production funding.

ArtScreen 2020 Premiere

This event will also include the world premiere screening of Little Things Matter, a provocative social critique of the dehumanisation of people with dwarfism by artist Debra Keenahan. This artwork was created by Debra as part of this year’s ArtScreen 2020 video artwork initiative (pictured above).

Following the screening. Debra will be interviewed by her ArtScreen mentor Dr Zanny Begg. Debra will also speak with students Michael and Shay from inclusive film school Bus Stop Films, Accessible Film Studies Program who crewed on Debra’s project.

Debra Keenaham | Artist

Debra Keenahan is a multi-disciplinary artist working between video, performance, identity and social engagement. Debra was selected in March to create her video artwork Little Things Matter through the ArtScreen 2020 initiative. https://debrakeenahan.com.au/

Dr Zanny Begg | Artist & Academic

Zanny is an artist, curator, theorist and lecturer at UNSW Art and Design. Zanny worked as Debra’s mentor during the pre-production, production and post-production phases of ArtScreen 2020. https://zannybegg.com/
