The biennial conference is presented by Accessible Arts in partnership with a range of industry, community, government, corporate and media partners. The 2-day event attracts over 300 delegates from all over Australia and around the world who gather to share information and ideas about advancing arts and disability, both for arts practitioners with disability and audiences with disability.
We began presenting Arts Activated in 2007 to inform, connect and activate people and organisations involved with Australia’s arts and disability sector. It’s now grown to a become an important fixture on Australia’s arts calendar attracting a diverse array of delegates including artists, arts workers, disability advocates, researchers, policymakers and other experts from across the arts, cultural and disability sectors.
The conference provides a really valuable opportunity for artists with disability to share their knowledge and experience as well as connect with other artists and arts workers from NSW, across Australia and overseas. It’s also a unique platform for people working in the arts, cultural and event sectors to share their approaches to accessibility and better understand how to increase participation in their programs, performances, exhibitions and events.
