Clubs Gaming Machine Revenue to support the arts

The new Community Development and Support Expenditure scheme (CDSE) guidelines were approved by the OLGR Minister Graham West last week, to now include not-for-profit performing arts activities to be sponsored by gambling revenue generated from Registered Clubs in NSW.


 

The new Community Development and Support Expenditure scheme (CDSE) guidelines were approved by the OLGR Minister Graham West last week, to now include not-for-profit performing arts activities to be sponsored by gambling revenue generated from Registered Clubs in NSW. The CDSE scheme is funded by a gaming machine tax rebate of up to 1.5% of gaming machine income. Guidelines will be published in the next 7 - 10 days.

Under the charter for distribution, there are 2 categories.

Category 1

Expenditure on specific community welfare and social services, community development, community health services and employment assistance activities; and


Category 2

Expenditure on other community development and support services.

Under the new rules, Category 2 will be amended to include distribution to non profit Performing Arts activity and Visual Arts.

The funding round for CDSE distribution runs from 1 Sept to August 31 annually.

It Is expected that April may be the deadline for the funding of new initiatives under these changes.
