Conferences :: Arts Intersections Symposium
"Arts, Disability, Happiness and Wellbeing" - Arts Intersections Symposium aims to develop sustainable research-based collaborations between community arts, disability, and research organisations.
Hosted by The Griffith Abilities Research Program in conjuction with Access Arts Inc. (Queensland). Papers, workshops, and other presentations will focus on a number of themes including:
- Cultural considerations: the place of art making and wellness in our society;
- Case studies of successful inclusive programs for art making and health or wellbeing;
- Research methods for identifying and evaluating the impact of community art programs;
- Skills development and growth in arts related employment for underrepresented populations;
- Reflections from community practitioners and artists on how they practice in relation to art making and the outcomes of this practice;
- Links between art making, personal development, and happiness;
- Ethical issues in community art making with vulnerable populations.
Due to the generous support of our sponsors, registration for this event is free of charge.
Please register early if you plan to attend. Participation numbers will be strictly limited. Registrations will officially close on THURSDAY 3 JULY 2008.

limited to 60 people to promote discussion and relationship building.
