Venue

Carriageworks is the largest and most significant contemporary multi-arts centre of its kind in Australia and is housed in the old Eveleigh Rail Yards on Wilson Street, located within the emerging Redfern Waterloo precinct. Carriageworks is an accessible venue and is located at 245 Wilson Street Eveleigh.

If you are after a quick bite, the Carriageworks Theatre Bar will be offering a range of gourmet salads, sandwiches, wraps and sweet treats, along with espresso coffee and cold drinks.  For something more substantial head to Cornerstone Bar & Food, which will be serving an all-day brunch menu.

On Saturday 19 September, the Carriageworks Farmers Markets is in close proximity to the expo, allowing attendees to combine their expo experience with local produce stalls.

Access

Auslan Audio Description Wheelchair Icons

Carriageworks is a ground floor accessible venue with accessible amenities. Provision of specific access will be available for expo attendees including Auslan interpreters and audio description. Full details of the two-day Access Program will inserted in your complimentary expo satchel, provided on your arrival.

Registration Desk

The registration desk will operate during expo opening times: Friday 18 September 10am – 4pm Saturday 19 September 10am – 3pm A complimentary official expo satchel is available for each registered attendee at the desk.

Auslan Interpreters

Two Auslan interpreters will be onsite during the expo, if you require assistance please go to the registration desk.

Audio Description

Audio description has been provided on the website for the photography exhibition as well as the layout of the venue and exhibition hall. An audio describer will be onsite at the expo on Saturday 19 of September at these times: 10am to 11:30am and 1pm to 2:30pm. To access this service please visit the registration desk.

Easy English

Easy English material will be available at the registration desk on request.

Large print

Large print materials will be available at the registration desk on request.

Wi-Fi Lounge

Attendees can relax in the expo lounge area and use the free onsite Wi-Fi. Be a part of our social media community and conversation during the expo by live-tweeting, or enter the expo Instagram contest. Please ask Accessible Arts staff or an onsite expo volunteer for more information on how to participate.

Free Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi has been made available to attendees for those accessing the expo website to listen to audio descriptions or other online material.

Quiet Space

Should you require a quiet space during the expo please visit the registration desk to find out where you can go.

Car Parking and Transport

There is very limited parking available on the streets surrounding the venue.  The venue is close to Redfern station [not wheelchair accessible], about a 10-minute walk. The closest wheelchair accessible station is Central. The expo is providing a free taxi shuttle service at Central Station, for all attendees including people with wheelchair access requirements, or with limited mobility.

Carriageworks is also located close to Sydney University, the Seymour Centre, and Australian Technology Park. Casual parking is available at these sites for a fee.

Shuttle taxi

Shuttle taxis for the expo have been generously supplied by Taxis Combined Services. Taxis will leave from Australian Technology Park and Central Station during expo hours. Australian Technology Park Bay 8 approximately every 30 mins from 10am to 4pm on Friday 18 September.

The taxi rank at the Grand Concourse entrance on the western side of station (off Pitt St) approximately every 30 mins from 10am to 4pm on Friday 18 September.
